I purchased this radio for my mother because she loves nature sounds. This alarm clock is wonderful; however, we had to take it back because the back-lit display was too bright even on its lowest setting. You can turn the back-lit display off completely but then you cannot see the time at night.
I would give this radio 5-Stars if the dimmer had more settings.-Doug

I have only one complaint with this thing. The display is so bright it lights up the bedroom. It has three settings: bright, very bright, and off.
